Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, San Diego, sealed bids for a lump sum Contract are requested for the following work:
THE PREUSS SCHOOL SOLAR PV POWER SYSTEM

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Furnish and install 62 PV Panels at existing Preuss School Building A, B, C and D. Solar PV power generation for a minimum of 46KW-DC solar panels will be mounted on existing steel trellis. The system will consist of Photovoltaic panels, inverters, combiners and AC panel and disconnect. Each building has an existing electrical panel that the solar panels will be connected to. Install DC cables between the PV panels to combiner and to inverter at each location. Install AC wiring between AC inverters and new electrical panel and inter-connect PV power at the main incoming service equipment. Coordinate with and get approval from SDG&E for tie in prior to actual connection to existing incoming switchboard.

MANDATORY PRE-BID JOB WALK:
A mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted on THURSDAY, MAY 23, 2019 beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m. Only bidders who participate in the Job Walk will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. Participants shall meet at The Preuss School UC San Diego Corner of Campus Point and Voigt Drive. Attendees should plan to arrive in ample time to secure parking prior to the scheduled meeting time.
A second* mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted on TUESDAY, May 28, 2019 at 8:00 a.m.
*If your firm attended the initial Pre-Bid Walk on May 23, 2019, it is not mandatory to attend the 2nd mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk.
For construction value between $300,000 and $640,000, Bidder and its mechanical, electrical and plumbing subcontractor(s) (if using) shall be qualified under the University’s standards prior to award.
The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: C-10 Electrical AND/OR C-46 Solar

No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for this project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].
No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded any portion of this project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. Contractors and subcontractors must use the DIR’s upgraded electronic certified payroll reporting (eCPR) system to furnish certified payroll records (CPRs) to the Labor Commissioner. Contractors and subcontractors who have been submitting PDF copies of their CPRs for earlier projects must also begin using the new system. [UPDATE: Per DIR News Release No. 2016-54 dated May 19, 2016, “Enforcement of the Requirement to Submit Electronic Certified Payroll Reports to DIR to Resume in August.”]
ALL CONTRACTORS AND SUBCONTRACTORS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS (DIR) AT BID TIME.

The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $13 per hour as of 10/1/15, $14 per hour as of 10/1/16, and $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
