RFQ Text The University of California, San Diego, will be selecting an Executive Electrical Engineer to perform site study, project planning, design, bid and construction administration services for the construction of the new I-5 12KV Electrical Switch Station.  UC San Diego is experiencing rapid growth in faculty, student, and sponsored research activities, resulting in a steady projected. 

The project includes construction of a new 12KV Electrical Switch Station to be located on the west side of Interstate 5.  The new 12KV Electrical Switch Station will be served from the Campus Cogen system via existing Revelle Switch Station and will also receive power from San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) via UCSD East Campus 69/12.47KV Main Substation.  The new 12KV Electrical Switch Station  will supply power to the existing North Campus Switch Station and from time to time to the existing Revelle Switch Station depending on existing co-gen system operations.  This project will also include all associated modification to existing equipment, if required, and underground medium voltage distribution system.

Construction budget is estimated to be approximately $12,000,000 at CCCI 7414.

Final selection and appointment is contingent upon project approval.
