Project Title 5229 Scripps Oceanography Human Health Research Building
RFQ Text REVISED RFQ DATED 1/20/21 POSTED. Download updated RFQ document below.

UC San Diego requests qualifications for selecting an Executive Architect for the Scripps Oceanography Human Health Research Building project.
The Scripps Institution of Oceanography has a distinguished innovative group of scientists examining various marine organisms as sources for marine pharmaceuticals as well as biochemical probes to examine the foundations of human disease.  The present buildings that house these scientists were built in the 1960s and new facilities are necessary to further the Scripps teaching and research goals. There have been significant improvements over the years, but the basic structure of the existing buildings inhibits the implementation of the newest technologies; there is a lack of space for research programs; there is no room for growth which restricts the ability to hire new faculty; and there is a lack of class laboratories and lecture space.

The estimated construction cost is $70,000,000 - $95,000,000. This project will provide approximately 56,200 assignable square feet/94,000 gross square feet of new laboratory and office space for current and future needs for training and research at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

Download below the RFQ package that includes further details. A link to RFQ Attachements (i.e. SF 330 Form, Attachement A, & Attachement B) are included in the RFQ package as well as below.
Proposals are due electronically no later than 4:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021.
